Pricing, honestly

XtrkR costs money to run — development, maintenance, and the costs of keeping the app available. Here's how I fund it, what you pay for, and what I promise.

Two ways to go premium

Own it
Core
$199.99 one-time

Every current premium feature, for the lifetime of the app. Every update, including future major versions — no upgrade fees, ever. Core is priced to make one-time ownership sustainable: after roughly four years, a Core purchase has funded the equivalent of an XtrkR+ subscription. I pick the price that lets me keep building without making you renew. (Wrapped is a separate $9.99 yearly purchase.)

All premium + iCloud + Wrapped, twice a year
XtrkR+
$49.99 per year

Every premium feature + iCloud sync across your devices + Wrapped (a $9.99 value) automatically included every year. Your subscription is how the app stays sustainable without investors, advertising, or data sales.

Both paths work. Pick whichever fits how you think about software.

What stays free

The clinical tools in XtrkR are free for every user. Not for 30 days, not until an encounter count crosses a threshold — free. Premium is the analytics layer on top. Here's what "clinical tools" means in practice:

All medication tracking

Every PrEP regimen — daily, on-demand 2-1-1, and both injectable options (Apretude and Yeztugo). PEP 28-day courses. DoxyPEP. ART. Dose logging, reminders, refill tracking, and post-PEP HIV follow-up scheduling are included for every user.

STI testing & partner notification

Log tests across all four sites (oral, anal, urine, blood). Track results, schedule retests, get reminders based on your own testing interval, and notify partners after a positive result with a draftable message.

Vaccination tracking

Hep A, Hep B, HPV, Mpox, and meningococcal — dose tracking and coverage status across all five disease targets.

Symptoms & exposure windows

Symptom logging with site-specific testing suggestions, exposure-window timelines after a positive test, and the helpers that turn a stressful 72-hour window into actionable steps.

Doctor visit summary PDF

A printable summary of your medications, recent STI tests, symptoms, and vaccinations — ready for any provider visit, on any plan, in any city.

Patterns, trends, and deeper analytics are premium. The act of tracking your health — logging a dose, recording a test, scheduling a follow-up, handing a doctor a summary — isn't.

What XtrkR+ does not buy

Earlier access to features

Every new feature ships to Core and XtrkR+ users at the same time.

Better data protection

Core and XtrkR+ get the same privacy architecture. Same encryption, same on-device-only storage, same protections.

Any data being collected about you

Your data stays on your device. I don't have access to it — that hasn't changed.

Other ways to support

Wrapped — $9.99 per cohort year

A 20+ card narrative of your year, generated on-device. Starting with 2026, every Wrapped Pass unlocks two decks per cohort year — Pride Wrapped in June and Year-End Wrapped in December. Available standalone to Core owners and free-tier users. Included free with XtrkR+.

Tip Jar — $1.99 to $49.99

Voluntary tips. Unlocks supporter app icons and cumulative thank-you content. Available to everyone — Core owners, XtrkR+ subscribers, and free-tier users alike. Tip if and when you want to. The subscription is not the only way to support the app.

My guardrails

Why both options exist

A one-time purchase says this tool is mine. A subscription says I want to keep supporting this. Both are legitimate ways to think about software you rely on. I offer both so the user decides — not the app.

Try it for 30 days, free

Every new install gets a full 30-day premium trial. No payment up front. Decide on day 30.
