01. What it is
Pride Wrapped is a year-long capsule. During the writing window each June, the app prompts you with five short questions about who you are right now, what you're hoping for, and what you want to leave behind. You write. You seal. Then nothing. The capsule stays closed for a full year.
On June 1 of the following year, it unlocks. You read what last year's you wrote, alongside an eight-card watercolor deck of queer history I curated for that cohort year, from Wilde's green carnation to Compton's Cafeteria, Café 't Mandje to Sylvester. Your story, in the long company of ours.
02. The ritual
Writing window opens
Five prompts, one per screen, in your own voice. Save and come back as many times as you want before the window closes (unsealed drafts get a one-week grace period to seal before they expire).
Sealed for twelve months
Once sealed, the capsule is locked. The app shows the envelope, but the reveal's a surprise, even for you. There's a “Read early?” option behind a warning, but the ritual is built around the wait.

03. Walk the ritual
Seven surfaces, in order: from the patient pre-window quiet, through the writing flow and the sealed envelope, to the read-back a year later. Captured from the 1.4.11 build in October 2026. 04. How cohorts work
Your cohort year is the June you wrote in. Write a capsule in June 2026 and you're Class of 2026. That's what your sealed envelope is stamped with, and it's what unlocks for you on June 1, 2027. Year 1 (2026) is BEGINNINGS, with its own eight-card queer-history deck.
Your capsule is never regenerated or rewritten: what you wrote that June is exactly what unlocks the following June.
05. Pricing
The Wrapped Pass, $9.99 per cohort year, covers the year's paid Wrapped decks (for 2026, that's Year-End Wrapped, dropping January 2027). It's available standalone to Core owners and free-tier users, and included with XtrkR+ ($49.99/year).
Pride is free: Pride Wrapped 2026, the very first Pride Wrapped year, has no paywall, for the capsule or the deck. Year-End Wrapped 2026 stays at the standard $9.99 Wrapped Pass.
If you install after the 2026 writing window closed, Pride Wrapped waits until the next window opens on June 1, 2027, when you can write your first capsule. Pricing details and the full guardrails are at /pricing-ethics.
06. Privacy
Pride Wrapped lives on your iPhone. Every prompt, every word you write, and every sealed capsule is stored locally in the app's database on your iPhone, never on a server I operate. There's no XtrkR account, no cloud sync of your capsule contents, no analytics on what you write. Encrypted iCloud backup (a premium feature) is opt-in: the file is encrypted on your iPhone with a password you set before it reaches your iCloud Drive. If you uninstall XtrkR, your capsules go with the app unless you made an encrypted backup (an exported .xtrkr file, or encrypted iCloud backup, a premium feature for both backing up and restoring). Restore that backup after reinstalling and they come back. Otherwise, they're gone. That's the trade-off of a local-first ritual: only you have it, but only you have it.
